PraNuity Protectors

Pool has been one of my hobbies for a long time; and 8-ball is still my favorite game. Machine work is another hobby of mine and I have a small machine shop in my garage in which I previously made minature steam engines. Sometime in 2009 I became a little bored doing metal work and began making pool cue joint protectors. At first I made them only for my own cue sticks, but soon afterwards I started making them for other people also. Well, one thing led to another and here I am.

My wife Margaret, of 38 years, has a much better eye for art than I mysef do; and she often helps me in selecting the combinations and proportions of the materials that I use.

I enjoy working with ivory and I use a lot of it in my protectors. I make ivory rings, inlays and caps. If you like ivory, I'll be glad to try something different for you, if you don't see it in my examples.

One more thing, I am retired and this is a hobby. therefore I can and do take my time making these protectors. Doing a good job is much more important to me than rushing something out.
